Hasmukh, that dropped on Netflix on April 17, 2020, opened to mixed reactions from audiences and critics. The comedy web series starring Vir Das, Ranvir Shorey, Ravi Kishan, Manoj Pahwa, among others, revolves around a stand-up artist who is also a serial killer. Vir Das plays the main role of a character called Hasmukh, and apart from acting in it, he has also co-written the series ith Nikhil Advani. Now, Hasmukh has landed in legal trouble after lawyers sent a legal notice to Netflix for showing lawyers in poor light in the series.

According to a report in Mid-Day, New Delhi-based lawyers, Abhishek Bhardwaj and Hardik Vashisth have sent a legal notice to Netflix against streaming Hasmukh as it shows lawyers in a bad light. As per the report, in one of its 10 episodes, lawyers have been referred to as 'goons, scoundrels, thieves and even rapists'. Abhishek Bhardwaj and Hardik Vashisth referred to these scenes as ‘scandalous’ and asked for them to be deleted.

In other news, Vir Das, in an interview with IANS opened up about his character Hasmukh, and said, “He is essentially an introvert and his stage person is a lot more open. I chalked out everything that Hasmukh would want to include in his set, figured a delivery style for him and made it entirely different from what he is off stage. The prep was actually the best part of the show for me. I enjoyed it to bits."
